  1. The student is expected to respect others by:
    • being courteous in word and action
    • using appropriate language
    • treating others as equals, regardless of colour, race, religion, sexual orientation or ability.
  2. The student is expected to respect the property of others. 
  3. Anyone possessing or under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol will be asked to leave school property and may face loss of school privileges.
  4. Smoking in public buildings is prohibited by a public by-law in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows. A designated area near the East parking lot is available, away from entrance areas.
  5. Food and drinks are not permitted in the Computer Lab.
  6. The use of mobile devices must be used with discretion, respecting the learning environment of others.
  7. Weapons or any implement used as a weapon will not be tolerated on school property and will result in immediate dismissal from Continuing Education programs.
  8. Students who intimidate, insult or threaten each other will be asked to leave.
  9. The use of the Internet in Continuing Education programs must be appropriate and abide by Code of Conduct and School District Policy. Violation may result in dismissal from Continuing Education programs.
  10. Academic Honesty is integral to a learning environment. Plagiarism of any kind will be investigated with an appropriate consequence that may impact grades and enrolment.

Code of Conduct – Process and Procedures

  1. Behaviour and Concerns within classrooms are managed by classroom teachers.
  2. Ongoing Concerns will be referred to the Principal as part of progressive discipline.
  3. Behaviours that are not resolved may result in removal from programs.
  4. Appeals to the Code of Conduct procedures are to be forwarded to the Principal.
