Student Services

Appointments may be arranged with an advisor by calling 466-6555 local 202. Course planning should be done before the beginning of a new semester. School records, report cards or transcripts will assist the advisor in planning a suitable program.

Students may not have complete records, or they may have learned in the workplace beyond their grade in school. An assessment test will provide students with their present skill level in vocabulary, reading comprehension, spelling, writing, math and science. All test scores are kept in confidence between student and advisor.

Adults who are Canadian citizens or landed immigrants may complete secondary school courses to graduate through School District No. 42 Continuing Education programs. There is a course fee for International Students. Students under 16 years of age are not eligible to register in Continuing Education classes. If students have been registered and have attended another school, arrangements must be made between the Principal of Continuing Education and the Principal of the last Secondary School.

Written notification must be received by the Continuing Education office of course withdrawals. The $30 Student Service Fee is non-refundable, however, full refunds will be issued for cancelled courses. International students/visitors who withdraw before the 2nd week of classes will receive a full refund less a $100 administration fee. There will be no refunds after two weeks.

A 100% refund for textbooks will be issued when books are returned in good condition within 4 weeks of the course’s end. Resource fees are non-refundable. Non-attendance does not constitute withdrawal from a course. Students must notify the Continuing Education office in writing of a course withdrawal. Withdrawal after 6 weeks of classes could result in a fail of the course.
