This form is for Summer School Grade 10-12 Academic Courses leading to Graduation AND Grade 8-9 Literacy and Numeracy Skill Building Course.
  • *Summer Learning 2021 in Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows is currently only accepting students from SD42 and also, those who have not met the requirements for graduation by July 6th. Graduates cannot take Summer Learning courses. Students who do not attend classes in SD42 will not be enrolled.

  • Course Selection Information

    Please select one course only. Students will only have time to complete one course at Summer Learning. (Instructions: Click once on the course to highlight the course. That indicates you have selected the course for your child.)
  • If the child's first choice for a course is full or is cancelled, you can inform us here of an Alternate Course that your child is interested in. Leave this field blank if you are not interested in any other course. You will be notified on June 23rd which course your child is enroled in.
  • Theme-based programming, with a focus on Numeracy and Literacy skills, is designed to build a positive engagement with teachers and learning while preparing for the next grade level in the upcoming school year.

    DATES: 80 Hours – July 6 - 27, 2021 inclusive. TIME: 8:00AM to 1:30PM LOCATION: TO BE DETERMINED SECONDARY SCHOOL
  • Attendance

    Thank you for planning your vacation time outside of Summer Learning hours. Attendance at Summer Learning is mandatory. Students not in attendance during the first week, or only on Friday, July 9th will be withdrawn from Summer Learning on the afternoon of Friday, July 9th and informed by parent email. Students who are withdrawn who wish to continue to participate will need to complete the registration/waitlist process again.
  • COVID-19 Protocols

    All students and staff will be subject to current health and safety protocols as directed by Public Health. Parents/Guardians are expected to conduct a daily health screening of their child. Students are expected to remain home if they are exhibiting any symptoms. Please visit our district website for more detailed health and safety information.
  • Next Steps

    Once you submit this form, this is what happens next: 1.) a confirmation notice appears in the web browser window you are viewing, 2.) a confirmation notice is sent to the parent email entered on this form indicating that the registration form has been successfully submitted, 3.) a digital copy of your form is directed to the Summer Learning clerical team, 4.) the Administrative team starts building course schedules, and identifying needs for Teachers, Educational Assistants, classroom space and custodial 5.) As courses fill up or are cancelled, students will be moved into alternate courses if an alternate course was indicated on the registration form 6.) Families will receive a confirmation of course, location, teacher’s name, attendance reporting, and First Day procedures by the end of day on Wednesday, June 23.
  • The information you are submitting on this form is being collected under the authority of the School Act and the British Columbia Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA). This information is to be used by School District No. 42 (Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows) for the purposes of determining the amount of interest they receive for each specific Summer Learning course listed on this form and further, to complete course selection for the selected courses, and to allow the school district to communicate with individuals who have expressed interest in the Summer Learning courses.
